East Hampton Old Home Days

East Hampton's weekend-long Old Home Days Glorious Celebration, now in its 31st consecutive year, promises once again to be the highlight of the summer season. Famous for presenting Middlesex County's largest parade and for hosting the 5K Glorious Gallop road race. Old Home Days also features a carnival, great food, raffles and giveaways; and some of the most stunning entertainment acts from Connecticut and beyond.

The festivities will be held in the field that lies between Center School, the East Hampton Post Office, and the Congregational Church in East Hampton's historic Village Center. Old Home Days 2009 takes place from Thursday, July 9 though Saturday, July 11 and is all about celebrating and sharing the spirit and force of our spectacular community. The theme of this year's Glorious Celebration is Favorite Movies.

Old Home Day Parade Theme: Favorite Movies

Old Home Days “goes Hollywood” this year with an invitation to parade participants to celebrate their all-time favorite movies. Win honors and prizes for throwing an “Animal House”-style toga party, fighting off ghosts ala “Ghostbusters”, claiming you’re the King of the World on your organization’s own “Titanic” float, or maybe you'd like to be Agent 007 for a day. The possibilities are endless so direct your own production and win a star on Old Home Day’s walk of fame!

Strut Your Stuff at Old Home Days 2009!

East Hampton is well known for its can-do community spirit and for the collective talents of its civic, cultural, and business groups. We invite your organization to sponsor an Old Home Day booth and offer a great opportunity to promote yourself and also to raise funds.

Annual Old Home Day Raffle!

The Old Home Day Association will be conducting its annual raffle, featuring an array of fabulous prizes. Proceeds from the raffle benefit the East Hampton Old Home Day Association. The 2009 prize list is complete and includes must-have baseball game tickets, restaurant gift certificates, a flat-panel TV, a riding lawn mower, and $500 gift cards redeemable at Shaw's. Take a chance!

Represent your East Hampton High School Class in the 2009 Old Home Days Parade

The Old Home Day Parade Committee would like to hear from graduates of East Hampton High School. In the 2009 parade, there will be a special section for any class that would like to enter a float or march in the parade. Please contact Russell F. Oakes at (860) 267-8533 for more information.

Old Home Day Association Meeting Schedule

The next meeting for the preparations of the 2009 Old Home Day Glorious Celebration will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009, 6:30 p.m., in the East Hampton Public Library Community Room. Everyone is welcomed to attend and participate in the meeting.
